Amy Winehouse photo exhibition comes to CHQ

Amy by Charles Moriarty is a collection of 25 images taken when the singer-songwriter was 19 and on the verge of reaching international fame as a jazz and pop musician.

The photographs were taken in the summer of 2003 when she was travelling between New York and London recording tracks for Frank, her debut album.

Charles Moriarty from Ballsbridge, Dublin, met Winehouse through a mutual friend in early 2003.

“That’s the main reason why I wanted to showcase these pictures because they show another side to Amy that is beautiful yet subtle. That’s the Amy I knew.”

That photography session forms the backbone of Amy, a collection of 25 images of the pre-fame Ms. Winehouse, which following a successful London run touches down at CHQ, Custom Quay, Dublin 1 from May 11th – 31st.
