Here at CHQ together with EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, we celebrate Irish achievements around the world and we’re proud to be displaying the iconic Windmill Lane walls to pay tribute to a great Dublin Docklands landmark and to support Movember. The walls are associated with one of Ireland’s most famous cultural exports – U2.

In 1979 U2 recorded their first demo at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin. The band went on to record Boy, October, War, The Joshua Tree, Pop, Zooropa and All That You Can’t Leave Behind at Windmill Lane.

Fans from all over the world made the pilgrimage to the studios, covering the walls in an ever-changing rainbow of graffiti. After the studio relocated, permission was granted to the Movember Foundation to remove and preserve several sections of the walls. These can now be seen by the public in The chq Building.
